Media, First Amendment & Public Access Law

Ogden, Broocks, & Hall has long had one of the most prominent media law practices in the State of Texas, shaping the law on issues affecting First Amendment rights, libel, privacy, and open government and open records. The Firm's extensive experience in this area has resulted from decades of handling media and communications-related litigation, representing local and regional broadcasters, newspapers, and news organizations, as well as national television networks, news organizations, publishers, authors, individual journalists, bloggers, production companies, and syndicators.   • Counseling clients regarding pre-publication review of news articles, broadcasts and advertisements
  • Responding to and defending subpoenas, including protection of confidential sources, notes and outtakes
