Gary Alfred

Gary Alfred represents clients in a wide array of civil litigation and commercial matters. His practice involves products liability, business litigation, commercial and residential construction matters, oil and gas issues, large personal injury defense, legal malpractice, and labor and employment law matters. Particularly, Mr. Alfred has investigated and litigated cases involving oilfield and pipeline injuries, cases involving plant explosions and fires resulting in serious personal injuries, and cases where workers claimed injuries from alleged exposure to various hazardous chemicals and products within chemical processing, refining, and other industrial facilities.

Additionally, Mr. Alfred has represented US companies manufacturing products in Asian and Latin American countries including counselling clients on contracts, choice of venue and jurisdictional matters. Similarly, Mr. Alfred has represented clients in breach of contract actions, breach of fiduciary duty matters, fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices Act violations. His practice involves matters in state and federal court as well as multiple bodies of arbitration. He also has experience mediating cases.

Mr. Alfred also is actively involved in the Houston community. He chaired his prior firm's Veterans' Legal Clinic and other pro bono activities. He is a past Houston Volunteer Lawyer Program board member. He is a past Houston Bar Association committee chair. He volunteers as well at local area elementary, middle, and high schools. Mr. Alfred also assists area law schools with moot court and mock trial competitions.

Prior to joining OBH, Mr. Alfred was a partner at a major Houston litigation firm.
